Wow, 2 posts in 1 month…That’s amazing but have a lot to share.
It’s a girl!!!
About 2 weeks ago, my husband had a reunion which was 30 years in the making. After much searching and through the magic of Facebook, we found his oldest daughter, her mother and apparently some new grand babies (well not exactly babies, 21 and 18 years old). Our family keeps growing (we are now up to 5 daughters and 6 grandchildren!!!).
I had only briefly spoken to Andrea on the phone but I knew listening to Michael that she needed to come and see her east coast home. As Andrea got off the plane (a day late) and came back to the house with Michael, I heard laughter and talking…I was down in Lori’s Lower Level as we like to call it, editing photos. I have to say I was a little apprehensive at first but as soon as I came up for some air, so to speak, I got the biggest, most wonderful hug from her and the apprehension was gone. Accepting and loving doesn’t even begin to describe what I was feeling…
Michael and Andrea did a ton of stuff together. Shooting, ride through the country where she had grown up for a few years, came to visit me while I was at a photo shoot, Hillside Farms, and just chatted. Michael actually sat and watched a Live Stream of a College Basketball game with Andrea and me, (Natasha, Andrea’s oldest daughter is an amazing basketball player), which is amazing in itself!!!
This was truly one of the most beautiful reunions I have surely ever witnessed, much less been a part of. All I can say is, I know not all reunions end with a happily ever after, but without trying you will never know. So with 2013 upon us, enjoy your family and friends and if you wonder how someone from your past is, bite the bullet and go search for them. I am a firm believer that G-d brings people into your life or re-enters your life for a reason and a purpose…We may not know what that purpose is, but we have to trust that it IS for a reason.
